Why We Love the Woodstock Parade
This year, PalmSet Pools is proud to be part of the Woodstock 4th of July Spectacular Parade, marching alongside neighbors, local businesses, and families who’ve made this town what it is. There’s something special about a parade like this one — it’s not a spectacle you watch from a distance, it’s a celebration you’re part of. Kids line the curb for candy. Families set up chairs the night before to claim their spot. Everyone waves at everyone, whether they know each other or not.
A Tradition Worth Showing Up For
Woodstock has never done small-town charm halfway, and the Fourth of July is where that really shows. Long before the first float turns the corner, the sidewalks are already filling in — coolers out, folding chairs staked down, kids perched on shoulders to get a better view. It’s the kind of morning where you run into three neighbors before you even find your spot, and nobody’s in a hurry to sit down.
That’s what makes this parade different from a lot of holiday events. It’s not something you drive somewhere unfamiliar to watch. It’s your own streets, your own town, dressed up for the day. The people marching are the same people you see at the grocery store or the school pickup line — which is exactly why the whole town shows up for it.
What This Parade Means to Our Team
For us, it’s a reminder of why we do what we build. Every pool, every backyard oasis we create is meant to become a version of this — a place where people gather, celebrate, and feel like they belong. The parade is just that spirit on a bigger scale, for one morning a year, all through the streets of Woodstock.
There’s also something grounding about it for our team specifically. Most of the year, we’re behind the scenes — on job sites, in design meetings, working through excavation schedules and installation timelines. The parade is one of the rare days we get to step out from behind the truck and the blueprints and just be part of the community we build for, waving and celebrating like everyone else on the curb.
A Milestone Worth Marching For
This year carries a little extra weight, too. America is turning 250, and there’s something fitting about marking that milestone in a town that takes its community traditions as seriously as Woodstock does. Two hundred fifty years is a big number to wrap your head around — but a parade full of familiar faces, kids waving flags, and neighbors cheering each other on has a way of making it feel personal.
See You Out There
We’ll be out there on the 4th with our float, and we’d love nothing more than to see familiar faces in the crowd. If you’re headed to the parade, keep an eye out for us — and give us a wave. We’ll be waving back.
Happy 250th, America. And happy parade day, Woodstock.
